Lindsay Hill - Three Year Anniversary

Congratulations to Lindsay on her 3 year anniversary with Platform Smart!

As our Head of Resourcing, Lindsay is ultimately responsible for ensuring we have the internal capability and capacity to resource and mobilise skills and expertise to deliver requirements and projects to our clients. Working closely with our Managing Consultants and Resourcing Team, Lindsay works tirelessly to ensure our Associates are proactively engaged and communicated on an ongoing basis. Lindsay’s personable approach, attention to detail, and ability to multitask and manage multiple stakeholders are second to none and impressive to watch.

She has made a huge contribution to Platform Smart over the past 3 years and we look forward to seeing the resourcing function continue to mature and develop under her leadership in the years ahead.

To celebrate being at Platform Smart for 3 years, we asked her a couple of questions about what her plans are to improve the Associate experience, what trends she sees in the marketplace, and more…


What is something you have learnt in the past 3 years as Head of Resourcing?

That no two days are the same. I love being able to speak daily to as many of our associates as I can, getting to know them and being a part of their career journey is one I truly value. People are always fun to work with and resourcing teaches you very quickly, that this world is not transactional, and people make decisions based on feelings and emotions and you are not able to influence that but aid people in making a positive impact on their lives.

I have learnt the importance of teamwork and being united as a team and the success that grows from this, when the team are united and all striving for the same end goal, it is amazing what can be achieved. Platform Smart has been on an incredible journey over the last 9 years and seeing all of this in action has been a pleasure to be a part of. 

What characteristics do you usually look for in associates that make them stand out?

This is a really tough question, as there are no key characteristics that each person will need to have to stand out. Generally, every client and every engagement will require very different skills and characteristics, to fit their organisation, culture, and teams. I think generally great characteristics in any associate or permanent employee are, to strive to do the best you can possibly do and be open and honest in communication. As long as communication is constructive and coming from a genuinely good place, these are the best people to have in your team. You will always know the truth and not just want you to hear, allowing teams to grow and deliver excellence.

How would you describe your time at Platform Smart so far?

Time has flown by in the last 3 years. I feel like I have blinked and here we are 3 years later. It’s been an incredible journey and one of hard work, fun and laughter. Coming to work each day has been really enjoyable, and that feeling of excitement for what the day holds is the icing on the cake. It is refreshing to work with a team of like-minded people, who all genuinely want to achieve great success as a team.

Is there anything that you are looking forward to in the next year?

There are lots of things I am looking forward to this year, family holidays, special occasions etc. I am also particularly looking forward to embarrassing my 13-year-old daughter, at her first music concert at the O2 later in the year! Payback time.

I am going all out to be the most embarrassing mum I can, dancing away to Craig David (her choice, not mine 😊), she will love it and hate me all in one I am sure, but it has to be done as a mum, especially to your teenager! Workwise I am looking forward to the implementation of CMAP, improving and streamlining many more processes within the resourcing team. 

What trends do you see in the marketplace at the moment and where do you think the demand is?

The market has been a challenging one so far this year and generally a lot quieter than normal, as a number of our associates have been telling us. It is hard to pick a particular demand area in this market, however, I can foresee the market growing again. In 25 years of recruitment, there are always peaks and lows and a low brings a wealth of new opportunity shortly after. I believe demand will come through, for all skill sets, Architecture and Project / Programme Management particularly.

What do you think makes Platform Smart unique?

Definitely the people. I have never worked anywhere where everyone is truly valued and whose opinions really matter. The people, being internal employees and our associates are at the heart of everything we do and every decision we make, and I believe that these values and putting people first make Platform Smart truly unique.
